Periodically, Microsoft announced an operating system "completely modular and scalable real-time" is successful with NT, then with W2K, then by 2003 ... At the end always comes out the Home version, the Pro version, Server version, the version of Terminal E. .. Embedded version. The latter is
Vista Embedded, which is rampant on the UMPC platform, after Microsoft failed to impose XP Embedded ... (And before CE embedded).
Since Microsoft has (almost) abandoned the EC no longer understands what you mean by "embedded": apart from the obvious reference to (partly) in the sw firmware, and the fact that the versions are "dedicated", everything what usually is associated with the handheld architecture is absent.
The system depends on a disk, boot has a conventional (slow as usual) and it consumes so scary.
The system is so enormous (for a handheld), which has allowed HTC Shift to use on a full instance of WM as a simple communication device ... (!).
