After the great success and critical acclaim received by the concert tour last year, the "Vocal Ensemble Scores "Back in Italy. To lovers of sacred music, but also to lovers of quality music in general, will offer a series of concerts that will open in Paularo (Tolmezzo) August 13 and will arrive in Trieste on 14 and 15, then close at Venice 17. The event is organized by "Friends of Music Luigi and Federico Ricci" and, as regards Trieste, is funded by the contribution of the Municipality of Trieste and National Bank Friuladria. The "Scores Vocal Ensemble will accompany the Mass on Friday 14 (19.15), during which will be carried out in full, the" Missa Vidi speciosam "for six voices, composed in 1592 by Tomás Luis de Victoria, Saturday, August 15 , again at 19.15, the choir will accompany the solemn celebration of Vespers, with the music always falsobordoni de Victoria, before exhibiting the same evening, at 20.45, in a real concert, free admission. All events will take place in the Parish Church and Chapel of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary Civic Square in old.
The exhibition "Music for the Spirit" aims to find a common basis of identity in a land, Friuli Venezia Giulia, located on the crossroads between Latin peoples, Slavic and Germanic. The realization of this project goes through the preservation and revival of a heritage of sacred music, choral and instrumental, in this case in the context of the liturgical Latin Gregorian rite codified by Pope St. Pius V and recently reviewed by the current Pope Benedict XVI.
The "Scores Vocal Ensemble, a mixed choir made up of sixteen professionals and college students hand selected by the University of Oxford, was founded by Tom and Ollie Primrose Winstone in 2007. The group officially debuted at the Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford, then to perform in several concerts in England and abroad. Last August, the choir was the star of a successful tour in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trieste culminated in the great concert that delighted the large audience at the Civic Church Chapel of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary.
The "Scores Vocal Ensemble, which specializes in sacred music (Gregorian chant from the sixteenth century, the Anglican tradition), will perform a wide and varied repertoire will range, among others, by Thomas Weelkes Thomas Tomkins, by Gioacchino Rossini Johannes Brahms . The choir is directed by Thomas Primrose, a young and promising organist and assistant choir director at Norwich Cathedral, and the body will sit Gabriele Damiani, who has performed well in front of members of the British royal family, was the first Italian to be appointed Organ Scholar at the Cathedral Westminster in London, and is currently professor and Chapel Organist at St Edward's School.
