The musical events were attended by the Choir "SOUND VOCAL ENSEMBLE" of Oxford in England. For the first time in the history of Trieste is a professional choir from England has inspired the liturgical Solemnity of the Assumption with songs from Italian and English Renaissance polyphony, Gregorian chant, the masterpieces of sacred music for double choir and swing the famous "Missa Assumpta est Maria "by GP da Palestrina.

SECONDS Solemn Vespers in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite
Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Heaven



Magnificat (Italian premiere), music by Sebastian Aguilera de Heredia (English Renaissance) flying for two choirs.

Proprium: the five psalms, music in falsobordone by Tomas Luis de Victoria and performed in alternatim with Gregorian chant

Ave Maris Stella: Gregorian chant alternating with verses organ by Girolamo Frescobaldi.

Ordo Usualis by Liber, Gregorian chant in the chapel organ improvisation on the organ Church of the Rosary by an anonymous Venetian organ builder of the end of '600.
The Solemnity of the Assumption in Concert was directed by Maestro Thomas Primrose direct the organization's involvement with Maestro Gabriele Damiani. The occasion was made a "Magnificat" for 8 voices (choirs flying) consisting of S. Aguilera de Heredia, played in the first national exclusive.

MUSIC FOR THE SPIRIT
Concert for the Feast of the Assumption

The concert, in key Marian wanted to explore some of the masterpieces of sacred music of all time along a path that has ranged from the first half of the 500 to 900. During the program were also performed three pieces for organ by way 'of instrumental interlude, however, included in the same stylistic context of the choral songs.

The first part of the concert has brought Britain and Spain in between 500 and 600. Some authors, such as Thomas Weelkes and Thomas Tomkins, are rarely performed in Italy, because of the difficult English phonetic pronunciation. A fairly well-known songs such as Ave Verum Corpus by William Byrd, are been joined wonderful rarities, such as the Ave Maria by Robert Parsons or the Regina Coeli Morales.

In the second part motets Irish CV Stanford, gems of romantic music for the liturgy English, were followed by songs of M. Duruflé, S. Rachmaninov, A. Bruckner and E. Grieg, in order to present the development of this kind in their country of origin. They concluded the two brief overview of English madrigals (Italian-born) Gerald Finzi, author of the first 900, also nicely matched with the same Marian feast.

- Sunday, August 17, 2008, 20.45 at Basic Patriarch of Aquileia (Grade).
