Hardly, in the past, even far away, the civic church chapel of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary in Trieste has been able to attend events like those that were conducted last August 14 and 15, in the feast of the Assumption of Mary into heaven SS.ma, the so-called "Easter summer."
A number of faithful and simple lovers of bel canto that literally filled the temple has been the crown to the solemn liturgies accompanied by the song of a choir from Oxford, United Kingdom, the "Scores Vocal Ensemble, directed by Thomas Primrose body and accompanied by Gabriele Damiani. The event traditionally is repeated for some years now, under the name "Music for the Spirit ", thanks to the association Friends of Music of Luigi and Federico Ricci Trieste, in order to bring the great masterpieces of liturgical polyphony through the Anglo-Saxon interpretation of choral groups, where accuracy and finesse are universally recognized executive. Quest 'year, the initiative has gained unprecedented success, despite competition from the dreaded "Ferragosto" holiday, the strong appeal of the sacred rites, celebrated in the traditional form of "Gregorian" in Latin, with the ceremonies of great pomp and circumstance.
The celebrations began on Saturday morning at 9.00 am, Solemn Mass with the third "in eve Assumptionis" celebrated by Fr Stephen Canon, parish administrator, in the evening at 19.00, s. Solemn Mass was celebrated by a young priest belonging to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, Don Gerard Gesch, ordered by His. Mo Cardinal Cañizares on 3 July to Wigratzbad that at the end of the rite, he offered to kiss the consecrated hands of the faithful, assisted by rev. deacon and the Rev. Marek Grabowski. The "Scores Vocal Ensemble" gives the maximum mass execution of Orlando di Lasso "Bell'amfitrit'altera" (1583), eight items (two hearts flying) and motets by Byrd and Gabrieli, proposing the "proprium" in Gregorian chant. Despite the presence of many different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, all the participants were able to experience firsthand the unifying force of Catholic thought, even more vivid thanks to the common denominator of faith expressed by the classical Roman rite.
